We have the tools and experience to provide you with accurate and informative analysis of your combustion equipment or systems, whether it is for the purpose of evaluating a specific fuel for such important parameters as dew point, heat content, fouling potential, and flue gas composition, or determining the best fuel for a specific application from both technical and economic perspectives.
We have experience evaluating many different types of gaseous fuels such as natural gas, refinery gas, and gasified solid product gas. We also have experience with liquid fuels such as #2 - #6 fuel oil, ethanol, and pyrolized biomass. Experience with solid fuels include coal, wood, and various types of biomass such as bagasse, miscanthus, peanut shells and food processing waste.
We can provide complete evaluation of your fuel, including:
Chemical analysis, including proximate and ultimate analysis,
Combustion performance evaluation, to determine appropriate fuel-air ratios for complete combustion and expected flue gas composition,
Emissions reduction technology evaluation for use in determining which techniques (e.g., flue gas recirculation or steam injection) will provide the best performance for your specific equipment,
As part of a heat exchanger design such as a fired boiler or fluid heater, to determine allowable furnace dimension, energy release rate, and appropriate furnace materials,
Performance testing, including construction and operation of fully-instrumented pilot plants or mockups to verify performance expectations.
